A sweet,1950s style hotel with illuminated plastic blocks announcing its name to the harbour: Pantheon. Here we rested three days after extensive drives from Delphi to Olympia to Gytheion covering main land Greece down to the southernmost regions of the Peloponese. Next photo the beehive tomb of King Atreus at Mycenae. Gytheion is the "Capital" of octopus eating. Here we savored it off the grill, tender in herbs and vinaigrette, as well as emboldened braised braised in the ruby red local wine. Our first wine tasting was in neapolis, down the pennies from Monemvasia.....the Byzantine/Venetian remains of a fortress together with a charming rebuilt shopping and tourist site.
