Gardens of Salonica Traditional and modern Greek cuisine

On Friday, May 7, all 21 members of Anna's Tour of Greece 2010 met for the first time for a 15 bottle wine tasting complements of Boutari Winery, Santorini. Talk about an ice breaker!

After multiple cancellations and false starts due to the Icelandic volcano, transportation strikes and unrest, it was a relief to begin our tour with such a grand gesture of Philoksenia and Philotimia (two Greek words that we learned over and over again during our travels: "hospitality" as well as the untranslatable, truly Greek concept approximating the profound generosity wrapped up in ones own sense of dignity and gratitude for what can be shared with a guest.)
