Didn't know you had a Greek name? You probably do....and now the Gardens will help you celebrate! Check us out on our FaceBook page for each week's celebrants. You don't have to come on the exact day: we give you the week and we will celebrate with you! A comped glass of wine or the dessert of your choice! Call with questions! Let's get started! This week: Athanasios (Tasos, Tasoula, Soula) Maximos (Max, Neon) Agnia (Agnes), Xenis (Zenos), Timotheos (Tim) and Agatha.
Lamb stock simmered with carrots & celery, thickened with sour trachana, a traditional tiny pasta made with semolina and yogurt, finished with an Avgolemono sauce--freshly squeezed lemon juice beaten with Schultz organic eggs and slowly whisked into the soup. Hearty, but light, a delight on tongue and in belly!
We wish you all the GOOD that the Holidays Bring!
At no additional costs to our customers a GREEN delivery to your door!
The grands, Carmen & Dede, of long-time customers and Anna's Greek Tours, Sandy & Jay, visited last Friday. They charmed us all and nibbled on pita crisps and spritzers and left happily babbling.
Our Fifth annual sponsorships of a Greek film in the International Film Festival! By the director of the Oscar nominated "Dogtooth," Yorgos Lanthimos' offbeat film focuses on a club whose members are paid to take the place of a family's dead relative. Our family-style dinner includes appetizers, entrees, dessert and a glass of wine. $20/pp; $15 w/student ID. RSVP's only. Movie ticket info & purchase:
Ever wondered about the art at the Gardens? That wooden peacock on the wall, the stone-age bead track that's used as a hat rack, that fountain, and, of course, that tree root thing? Zoran Mojsilov, our resident artist with an international reputation will be our Guest Presenter at our next Symposia. A Series, XI on Wed, Oct 26 @ 6pm. An unabashed regaler of stories and intentions, Zoran will show us some of his latest and furthest away installed works.
From he Southeast Food Network: all-natural, pasture-raised pork shoulder, simmered together with Zane Street Farms' Frisée and Garden Farmes' garlic mustard greens, red root pigweed, and Arugula in freshly squeezed lemon juice, white wine and extra virgin olive oil; this light, fork-tender, gluten-free dish pairs nicely with the dry, stand-up rose such as Kleoni or its fruity, but finely structured Kleoni red, our house wine.
