Arni me Anginares: Braised Lamb Shank and Organic Artichoke Hearts


Brought back for Valentine's Day and as a promise for Spring: all-natural lamb shanks braised in extra virgin olive oil and white wine, simmered with organic, globe artichoke hearts (yes, we shuck the leaves for you!) sweet carrots, scallions and fresh dill. This is Anna's absolute favorite, a dish that she judges Greek restaurants by: if they attempt to make the dish, it's a decent diner, if it's good, she'll recommend it!

We still recommend Boutari's Naoussa with its "dark tart" berry,"Xinomavro" as the "go-to" wine for anything avgolemono: it's full, yet balanced tanins velvetize the acid of the lemon sauce.
