While the Gardens was hosting multiple celebrations, yet another family joined us. Instead of waiting for a table that was rather hard to come by, they opted to sit at the bar and begin with wine and appetizers. Here they are from one end to the other. I promised to send them their photos, but I thought it was such a nice idea. I love eating at the bar.
Apparently when Steve woke up today, what was lacking in his life--more strident for it being his 70th birthday--was a Gyro sandwich from the Gardens of Salonica. Coming here for nearly the 20 years that we've been opened, Steve had NEVER eaten a Gardens' gyro. So tonight, he gave it a try and followed it, for good measure, with a yogurt honey sundae. We went on to brain-storm how we would be celebrating the Garden's 20th Anniversary this January...and boy, do we have plans! Thanks, Steve and Cathy!
Hill and Vale all-natural lamb seared, braised, baked in parchment. A divine dinner for two here enjoyed by Marty and Emily: two adventurous frequent travelers for whom the Gardens catered their wedding just over two years ago.
And how long have Matt and Krista been dining at the Gardens for us to pay attention to such a compliment? Longer than the births of their two sons,
As cold as it was, KellieRae celebrated her birthday with us at the Gardens and her circle of friends filled the dining room with warmth and laughter. Na ta ekatostiseis! (Live to be a 100!)
Apparently some people read Anna's blogs at this website: responding to the Yigandes! Yigandes! Yigandes! entry,
The "THIRD" already? I actually argued with Kevin Barnes thinking it was only the second time....even so, the stress got to me all the same as if it was the first time and all the world was coming...So, again nearly forty KBEM supporters gathered on a cool October evening to celebrate a Greek harvest
To wish their friend and colleague a fond goodbye and successful term as the Ambassador's wife to Morocco, the Women's Investor Group met at the Gardens of Salonica to toast and nosh and to shower Sylvia with token gifts of her home state. Sylvia has been a long-time "investor" of the Gardens as well and we wish both her and her husband a very successful ambassadorship!
As a Guest Chef in the "Meet the Chef Series," Anna taught, the "Flavours of Greece" cooking class Tuessday, July 21 from 6 to 9 pm. Done! Here are the photos to prove it! What an enjoyable evening! As Amy put it, "This was the best deal in town tonight! Anna's great food, entertainment and a glass of wine!" Thanks to all the support from the Event Coordinator, Kelly, and the excellent staff of Chef Assistants, Julia and Gretchen. It is a beautiful space, graciously designed and still they are looking forward to an even newer and better-designed site in the same complex but at the southern end. As I understood it, the Kitchen Window will house the retail store on the main floor with the Event/Education Center above. Best part? Rooftop space for summer grilling! Wow! And am I going to use that 25% discount card they treated me? You betcha! The menu I demonstrated follows.
